About
Julian King & Associates was established in 2002 to provide consulting services to policy makers in Australia and New Zealand. Over time, our services have evolved into a specialisation in building Value for Investment (VfI) capability, with a global client base spanning every continent except Antarctica. Our purpose is to help people use evidence and explicit values to make good decisions, contributing to positive social, cultural, environmental, and economic impacts.
Julian King
Julian has over 20 years’ consultancy experience in evaluation and value for money across high-, middle-, and low-income countries. As the originator of the Value for Investment (VfI) approach, he is a sought-after trainer and speaker who works with governments, multilaterals, consultancies, and non-profits to build evaluation capability. His work focuses on strengthening evaluation systems and cultures through customised training, mentoring, technical advice, and peer review.

Julian is a member of the Kinnect Group, an Associate of Oxford Policy Management, a member of Verian Group’s Centre for Value for Money, an Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne, a University Fellow at The Northern Institute, and a member of the UK Evaluation Task Force Evaluation & Trial Advice Panel. He is a member of the evaluation societies of New Zealand, Australia, UK, USA, and Europe.
